In life you are blessed by those who save you from yourself.

I sit and look at this picture of my friends Chris and Grimaldo and I realized how bless I am for having them in my life. This day was one of many that I spent going to skate parks to watch them ride. When I met Chris I was starting to go on the wrong path in my life. I was 17 years old and just trying to fit in. Chris showed me to be myself with some minor changes.

Chris was the little brother I always wanted but never had. He was there to laugh with, there when my world was falling apart, and there to get me back on the right path. Grilled cheese and chocolate milk in hand. Because of Chris and our friend Jeff I learned that you can enjoy life with out alcohol or drugs. They introduced me to an entire world that I would have never experienced.

Because of them I got to meet Grimaldo who was part of the Newark crew. He was the daredevil and famous for doing bike tricks into my pool. He was also the one I worried the most about. One time when we were in Newburg he was coming off a jump at full speed when another biker crossed in front of him. They collided and all I saw was him flying. As the rest of our crowd stayed to watch the competition Grimaldo and I were off the ER. I wouldn't have been anywhere else he was one of my guys and making sure he was okay was priority.

The picture above was taken down the block from Yankee Stadium.

The rule for Donna when in the Bronx no exiting the fenced in area
with out an escort of one of the guys.

This picture will always remind me how lucky I was to have them in my life.
How blessed I was to enter into the world of BMX and
how hard my life would have been with out them.
